Welcome to Geo Cash-in! I have created this website for others like myself that love the sense of adventure. Don't get me wrong, I love going out and finding geocaches, finding them is a lot of fun, but I want to create a little more incentive and competition with your fellow geocachers. How about a little extra cash to get new gear for geocaching or hunting or fishing or whatever. Same great fun, only I will help provide prizes to enhance your thrill of the hunt and help keep you in the game. I will be offering prizes starting with $20 gift certificates to the sporting goods store of your choice, I will do my best to get the store you want. My ultimate goal is to get high traffic flowing through this site everyday, then I can attract Sponsors to this site. When that happens I will be able to provide bigger and better prizes, more challenging puzzles and hunts. So tell your fellow adventure addicts and geocachers, I will hide a new geocache every week or two or maybe more. After I hide them I will post the coordinates on this website, the person that gets to the geocache first wins the prize! Lets have some fun!
Just in case your lost, Here is a brief description of uses, manufacturers, tasks and other ramblings in the land of the GPS.
Back in 1973, the idea of a Global Positioning System was first conceived. A GPS is just that a Global Positioning System that allows you to locate your exact location anywhere on the planet. In 1983 the crash of civilian airplane of the Korean Ailine was shot down over soviet territory, it was then decided to allow for the use in civilian applications. Which of course lead to the creation of a few manufacturers such as Garmin in 1989, which started out as a brainstorming session around a card table with a handful of engineers.
From there it exploded, it opened up limitless possibilities; GPS receivers, GPS software, GPS land navigation, GPS systems, GPS Surveying, Handheld GPS receivers , GPS Mapping, Marine GPS navigation, GPS air navigation, GPS tracking, and or course Geocaching.
With the creations of Garmin and Magellan brought it own unique market. These two companies create GPS receivers ; most of us are familiar with their hand held units. The Handheld GPS system was an excellent invention. Now we have geocaches to play out a treasure hunt nearly anywhere on the globe. You can even use a GPS unit find local restaurants, gas station, rest stops, local attractions, landmarks, national forests, or the fastest road to wherever. The applications seem endless.
Geocaching is a great past time. You could be nearly anywhere in the world and you can locate a geocache online, then go out and find it with your GPS. Hope in your 4x4 or put on the hiking boots and your off on a treasure hunt. The general rules are to have fun and always leave something in the cache for the next person if you take something out. There are many types of geocaching, traditional, multi-cache, letter box, event, cash in trash out, mega-event, mystery or puzzle, earth cache, virtual, webcam, locationless, and goecashin .
No longer do you get lost while backpacking if you have your trusty GPS with you. Take your GPS with you while; kayaking, rafting, scouting, hunting, 4-wheeling, motorcycling, snowmobiling, camping, you’re on a road trip, boating, etc.. When you have your GPS, you will almost never get lost, forget what time of day it is, forget what year it is, etc unless your battery runs dead.
Which brings me to another great thing about handheld GPS units, they have accessories. You can get maps loaded on your GPS , get a car charger for your GPS, get an adapter to mount your GPS nearly any vehicle, and get an antenna for your GPS. Handheld GPS system can be integrated into almost anything these days. For more information about geocaching and articles check out our archive click here
